C306 MEDIUM AND LOW PRESSURE METHANOL SYNTHESIS CATALYST
 

  C306 medium and low pressure methanol synthesis catalyst was developed by Research Institute of Nanjing Chemical Industrial Group. It is widely used in medium and low pressure methanol plants with natural gas, coal, oil and petroleum associated gas as raw material. The key of technology is the preparation of active matrix and thermostable supporter, so that zinc-copper matrix with high activity at low temperature can be supported on aluminum oxide carrier with high thermostability and large surface area. The catalyst passed the appraisal of Sinopec on Dec.14, 2000. The appraisal confirms that the catalyst has high activity, strength, stability, thermostability and adaptability of feedstock; and is superior to other domestic ones and equal to ones abroad.

  The catalyst won the First Prizes of Jiangsu Provincial Scientific and Technological Progress in 2001.

    Activity after superheat((hourly output of methanol per ml catalyst):≥0.9g/ml.h

Commercial Application
  Since its first commercial application in Jiangsu Xinya Chemical Industrial Group Co. in Dec. 1997, C306 catalyst has been rapidly spreading in China. Now it is used in 19 low-pressure methanol synthesis units in 16 plants. The application shows that it has satisfied activity, selectivity and strength and brings about an increase in output of methanol. When it was used in Chongqing Weiming Chemical Industrial Co. Ltd, hourly output of methanol per ml catalyst reached 0.64 g/ml.h.
